We are currently looking for a Tech Lead with JavaScript Knowledge. This opportunity for a direct hire to our client. Who is our client? A Swiss company with over 70 clients in Europe, specialized in development of sophisticated investment management solutions and services with offices all over the world namely Zürich and Portugal (Oeiras). What will you do? Mostly start the new Web client for their main asset management product. Business wise it will cover back to front office of major asset management companies. As a tech-lead you are expected to discuss with their architecture board the major technologies and approaches to the product, As well as technically guide your colleagues to achieve the goals. What are the requirements? You are expected to be a tech-lead on full-stack Web Development with big focus on Front-End development. You have experience on Javascript technologies and frameworks, preferably with specific know-how on React.JS and TypeScript (or other typified JS language) Being a tech-lead it is expected you are open to share and teach your know-how to the team while on-work duties. You are a committed person since this is a new big project in the company which is expected to be their product future. Since you will work in an international company we expect you to be an open-culture person with strong written and verbal English skills. It’s also expectable to travel (usually a week or so) to their HQs once or twice a year. In which projects / products? Their current product is a C++ and Java based product with front-end made on Java (Swing and SWT) and server side made with Java and C++. This is a technological evolving project as they are now shaping it into modern approaches, as micro-services oriented approaches and web-based clients. Your role will mainly be on starting the migration of their desktop-client into a web-based client in such a way that both clients can co-operate until they are fully web based. With which Technology Stack / Tools / Methodology? Technology wise their current plans goes into using React.JS and a typified language (ex: TypeScript) They work on a very lean methodology similar to Kanban with close connection to the consultants and clients. (consultants are the one setting / operating our product at client premises) What is the dimension of the team? You will be working within their current “Java team” together with their usability-experts, desktop-front developers (with some web background). It’s expected to have initially 2 to 5 people cross-sites between Lisbon and HQ offices at Zürich. Company Location: The offices are currently at Campo Pequeno, but the company is in process of moving into Oeiras, near the Tagus Park region.
