Job Function

• 
  

  To receive customer licensing queries and log them onto the corporate ITSM tool.

  
  


• 
  

  To respond to licensing queries received on the company licensing desk which is the first point of contact for all customer licensing queries.

  
  


• 
  

  To manage the licensing desk queue and escalate as appropriate.

  
  


• 
  

  To assist in the delivery of license analysis and support senior colleagues with optimisation solutions across multiple vendors

  
  


• 
  

  To assist in the delivery of SAM managed services and software license expertise to multiple customer accounts under the direction of senior colleagues.

  
  


• 
  

  To provide subject matter expertise for at least one complex Tier 1 Vendor, such as Microsoft, Oracle or SAP and to provide training and support to junior members of the team as required.

  
  


• 
  

  To demonstrate an understanding of data centre infrastructure and its impact on software licensing.

  
  


• 
  

  To take direction from more senior members of the team and to provide support to other members of the team.

  
  

Duties / Responsibilities

• 
  

  To continually update your skillset by learning new vendor licensing rules, product usage rights

  
  


• 
  

  To educate others around architecture and complex licensing.

  
  


• 
  

  To continually monitor the Licensing Desk ticket queue.

  
  


• 
  

  To assist senior colleagues during consultancy assignments, analysing customer requirements, gathering and analysing data, recommending solutions and mitigating activities.

  
  


• 
  

  To identify opportunities within and outside of customer base and to co-ordinate meetings to discuss solutions.

  
  

Experience Required

• 
  

  University degree or other equivalent qualification or experience - Preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Additional language skills an advantage.

  
  


• 
  

  3 - 5 years' experience in software license management and demonstrable experience of performing software license management.

  
  


• 
  

  Demonstrable experience of at least one Tier 1 software vendor license models and numerous licence metrics and calculation types.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience of analysing software contracts and extracting relevant clauses and usage rights.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience of analysing hardware data such as client endpoints, server endpoints, virtualisation, mobile devices, BYOD, etc and understanding the impact on software licensing.

  
  


• 
  

  Operational knowledge of Flexera &/Or Snow operationally & administratively including, entry of contracts & licensing data

  
  


• 
  

  Use of Flexera, Snow, Product Use Rights Library, including Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, Oracle and IBM.
