Corporate Digital Integration Specialist - Permanent

We are looking to hire a Corporate Digital Integration Specialist, to work as a software engineer on our new strategic integration platform based on IBM IIB technology. Focus is on integration but also on other solutions around the platform focused around the enterprise service bus. This technology is crucial to bring Panalpina to the next level of IT integration in the forwarding industry.

Key Tasks:
- Develop solutions on the platform according priorities defined via the Panalpina demand process and in agreement with architectural standards and guidelines
- Develop solution software components following Panalpina’s coding standards and in accordance with applicable software development methodology and release processes
- Collaborates and adds value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions - Verify code quality and artifacts delivered by offshore developers
- Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems
- Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on design aspects
- Responsible together with the integration team members for the development planning, the progress and the quality of the delivery
- Decision Making Authority
- Detailed implementation design.
- Unit testing design

Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process working:
- At least 3 years of experience in software development with strong knowledge of the Java. technologies is a must. C# is a plus.
- 3 years’ experience in building enterprise applications based on the technologies like following integration platforms (IBM, Software AG) (Enterprise Integration Bus, Rules engine, BPM)
- Strong database experience in DML, DDL, physical data modeling and development skills of either DB2 or SqlServer.
- Strong knowledge in solution, data and integration architecture.
- Excellent grasp and experience in realizing enterprise integration patterns.
- Familiar with agile project management methodologies.
- General understanding of relational data modeling both logical and physical.

Educational background / Work experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Information Systems is a must.
- Master degree preferred.

Language skills:
- English mandatory, German plus

Computer Literacy:
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
- Programming languages: Java, C#, C, Javascript, (IBM DB2 Native SQL, Microsoft Sql Plus)
- Development Environments: Eclipse, Visual Studio, Power Designer or IBM Rational
- Deployment and release management: Ant, Jenkins, Maven (Microsoft TFS)
