We are now recruiting a Linix Support Technician (m/f) for one of our main clients, located in Lisbon.

Profile:

Detailed knowledge of the Unix / Linux operating systems, and middleware infrastructure products combined with Java applications.
This will include configuration, operational, administration / troubleshooting and using industry ‘Best Practices’ for the associated technologies.

Specific technical requirements and skills:

• Minimum of 5 years exposure to Linux – Suse (SLES) & Red Hat (RHEL) (both CLI
and management interfaces):
o Full SA experience;
o Capacity planning;
o Performance monitoring;
o Fault diagnosis;
o OS & build and patch installation;
o Filesystem and storage knowledge;
o Cluster and IAM, DNS, DHCP;
o SSH experience along with AutoYast in SuSE, Ansible (valued).
• Minimum of 5 years experience with Shell scripting:
o Bash (essential);
o Korn;
o Bourne;
o Perl;
o Python (valued);
• Experience with JBOSS / Apache / WebSphere configuration and administration;
• Good command of written and spoken English (French or German will be a plus);
• Experience with storage techniques and housekeeping utilities;
• Experience in operational teams;
• Service delivery oriented and focused;
• Proactivity and team work.

Valued but not mandatory skills:

• Java programming experience:
o Knowledge of resource impacts, controls and how to monitor and fault-find a java application;
o o Understanding of how a Java application works (JVM, threads, resource use and troubleshooting).
• Experience using VMware;
• MQ experience;
• Unix Exposure to AIX: hardware configuration, boot modes, good all-round O/S diagnostics knowledge;
• Deployment (CI / CD) tooling;
• SVN / Git / GitHub repository and package build experience.
